Elfsborg manager Jimmy Thelin is sitting on the fence about a potential move to Aberdeen, despite the Swedish side already lining up a replacement.

That’s according to Fotboll Direkt, relaying information from Sportbladet, who report that Thelin is yet to share his decision despite the apparent interest from Aberdeen.

The Scottish side are on the hunt for a new manager, with Peter Leven in charge on a temporary basis for the second time this season following Neil Warnock’s decision to leave at the beginning of March.

He only lasted six games after replacing Leven in February following the sacking of Barry Robson at the end of January.

With no wins in those games the decision was made to part ways and the focus is now on who will be the next permanent manager at the club.

Thelin has reportedly been targeted to take charge in the summer, but Sportbladet report that he is yet to make a decision about the interest.

He’s yet to drop any details about a potential exit, leaving Elfsborg in something of a limbo state waiting to see what happens.

They have already planned ahead in case he decides to go, with former Elfsborg star Oscar Hiljemark, who is currently coaching Aalborg, lined up as his replacement.

It all currently seems to hinge on Aberdeen making a proper, firm move and forcing Thelin to make a decision.
