John van der Brom accepts that his star man Vincent Janssen is likely leaving AZ this summer. Nothing is certain but when an AZ player starts receiving interest from the likes of Tottenham and PSG, it can’t be too long before he leaves the club.
Tottenham have reportedly made not just one offer for Janssen, but three, and seen them all rejected. The situation could drag on all summer and Van der Brom feels there are important choices to be made, both by AZ and Janssen himself.
Quoted by Voetbal Zone, the AZ manager explained: “Whether he will remain here is the key question for the club and for Vincent himself. We have to wait and see. I do not get too panicked, because I know how it works. Of course I hope he stays. He is a good striker who has not become top scorer for nothing. We’ll see.”
The story has calmed slightly over the past 48 hours. Tottenham can’t submit a bid every day, and maybe the PSG interest, and subsequent talks, wasn’t as nailed on as suggested.
