IFK Norrkoping manager Jens Gustafsson has told the Swedish media he isn’t afraid of this summer’s transfer window. Some of Gustafsson’s key players could leave the club in the coming weeks, including Leeds United target Linus Wahlqvist.
Speaking to FolkBladet, the Swedish coach was asked about Norrkoping fans being worried the likes of Walhqvist and Niclas Eliasson could be sold this summer.
“I know nothing about this, but we are absolutely not afraid of the transfer window,” said Gutafsson.
Leeds United have already tried to sign the right back, making an approach for Wahlqvist last summer. Throughout this season Leeds United have continued to be linked with the youngster in the Swedish media, and it had been expected they’ll again show interest in the next window.
Garry Monk’s exit could impact Leeds United interest, with being unclear whether Wahlqvist was a club or manager target. With Leeds also bringing in Victor Orta as sporting director, the club’s targets are likely to change going forward.
