Mainz manager Bo Henriksen has insisted that he’s happy at the German club, and his next step is only to get the club to Europe despite links to Leeds United.
BILD cover comments from the manager today after he was linked with the Leeds jobs amid doubts over Daniel Farke’s future.
Questions began to arise about Farke’s situation at Leeds, despite him guiding Leeds to the Championship title this season and back to the Premier League.
Several names were linked with the position as a result and Henriksen was one of them, with his impressive work at the German since his arrival in February 2024 having not gone unnoticed.
He’s led them away from relegation danger to knocking on the door for Europe and BILD report that other clubs can imagine the Dane as their manager. Leeds were believed to be one of them and several reports had him among the candidates to potentially replace Farke.
Leeds, though, have since made it clear that their manager will be remaining where he is and Henriksen has insisted he’s happy where he is, when asked directly about those Leeds rumours.
“I love being here,” he said.
“I’m so, so happy here at the club – and I’m already looking forward to next season! My next step is: We want to go to Europe!”
