With the arrival of Layvin Kurzawa at Fulham on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, game time would have been hard to come by for Joe Bryan.

That’s why the English defender ended up looking for a new club, and OGC Nice kindly gave him a landing spot in the last few days of the transfer window.

The Fulham left-back joined the Ligue 1 club on loan for the season, and it appears he’s quite chuffed with the move, as explained by manager Lucien Favre on Friday afternoon.

Speaking to the press for the first time after the end of the transfer window, the Swiss manager was asked about his feelings when it came to his club’s moves.

He said, relayed by L’Equipe: “We knew it would be hard to work, but we’re all happy. Joe Bryan is happy to be here. He’s an experienced player. We needed an extra left-footed player to play down the left.”

The Fulham man isn’t the only player from the Premier League the French club brought in, as they also secured the services of Brentford’s Mads Bech Sørensen, also on loan.

Prior to the transfer, Bryan had only played 45 minutes of football this season, taking his tally with the Craven Cottage side to 117 appearances, during which he scored five goals and assisted another 11.
