There are claims Sweden manager Janne Andersson has already selected his team for the game against Belarus this weekend, and Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson has missed out.
This would be the second snub for Jansson in a matter days, after he was left out by Leeds United boss Garry Monk for the game against Brighton on Saturday.
Aftonbladet have speculated on Andersson’s team for the game against Belarus on Saturday, following today’s training match. The Swedish coach played a eleven which is expected to start at the weekend, and this didn’t include 25 year old Jansson.
It’s expected the Sweden boss will again go for his tried and tested partnership of Victor Lindelöf and Andreas Granqvist after they were paired together in today’s training game. The two central defenders have started all of Sweden’s World Cup Qualifiers for Russia 2018, and Jansson has a big task breaking up the partnership.
If this does turn out to be Andersson’s starting eleven the Leeds United player will now be hoping he can come on as substitute at the weekend, and then maybe start in the friendly against Portugal next week.
