Hamburg manager Christian Titz has confirmed to the German media Filip Tostic wants to leave the club this summer.
The Serbia international has again been linked with a move to Southampton in recent days.
Hamburger Morgenpost have today reported on comments the German coach made about the forward: “Kostic wants to leave HSV after relegation but as yet no club has presented an offer. As long as he is with us, he will participate normally in the training.”
Earlier this week it was claimed Kostic told his agent before the World Cup he wanted to leave the club, and that Southampton were in the race to sign the player.
These latest developments came after we covered claims from Germany earlier this month that Southampton are in the mix to sign the Serbian.
Last season Hamburg were relegated to Bundesliga 2 for the first time in in their history, which has prompted the Serbian to ask for a transfer in this window.
It’s also been claimed this week a major investor at the German club has suggested they need to sell the Kostic so that they can re-pay a loan he gave them in 2016.
