Fanatik claim midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has asked to leave Trabzonspor, after he confirmed his wish to join Birmingham City.
The 24 year old’s future with the Karadeniz Firtinasi is being widely reported in the Turkish media at the moment, and yesterday we covered reports Trabzonspor are preparing for the player’s exit.
Fanatik have reported on comments made by Trabzonspor boss Ersun Yanal when he was asked about Onazi joining Birmingham City: “He wants to leave the club. I will be unhappy with the transfer, but I don’t want unhappy players. There’s no problem if he goes.”
After the comments from Ersun Yanal, Fanatik expects Onazi to be sold in the coming days. Birmingham City will have to sort out a work permit before they can get a deal done to sign Onazi, Fotospor are among those in Turkey to report this as an issue.
It’s been reported in Turkey that Birmingham City will pay €4.5m to sign the former Lazio midfielder, and that the Turkish stock exchange have been informed about his pending transfer.
Onzai is contracted to Trabzonspor until June 2020.
