Dynamo Kyiv coach Mircea Lucescu has revealed his delight at Vitaliy Mykolenko’s impending move to Everton.
Mykolenko has been heavily linked with Everton over the last week, with it stated a deal is in place for him to join in the January transfer window.
Reports in Ukraine have made it clear he has already travelled to undertake a medical on Merseyside and since returned, waiting for the two clubs to finalise the deal.
Yesterday we covered a report from the same country that stated it won’t happen until January, meaning the deal is in limbo for the time being.
There is, however, a confidence that it will be pushed over the line, with many speculating that the youngster will be arriving as a replacement for Lucas Digne.
He’s had something of a falling out with Everton manager Rafa Benitez, so much so that it’s believed he is now on the club’s list of players they want to sell next month.
Whether that is the case remains to be seen, but for now, the focus is on Mykolenko, and Lucescu has shared his delight at the transfer.
“I am glad that a young player from my team is now moving to Everton. I mean Mykolenko,” UA Football report him saying.
“Another 18-19-year-old footballer will take his place. The rest in defence are 19-20 years old. Therefore, we continue to play as a very young team.
“They have to work much harder than experienced ones.”
