SC Freiburg coach Christian Streich has insisted they will not ignore an offer from Brentford FC for Kevin Schade if it is a good one.
That’s according to Kicker, who cover comments from the German coach today amid reports Brentford are still interested in the forward.
The newspaper reports that Schade is ‘still being courted’ by the Bees, who were also interested in the summer but failed to get a deal over the line.
Brentford have retained that interest and could renew their efforts to sign the 21-year-old as they look to build on an impressive first half of the season.
Freiburg don’t particularly want to sell their player and Streich ‘would not be happy’ were he to leave midway through the campaign.
At the moment he is “relaxed” about the situation but insists that the German club cannot afford to ignore any offers should they arrive.
“When certain offers come in at a certain amount, we usually don’t close our minds to them because we have to make sure that the club remains financially healthy,” Kicker report him saying.
Whether Brighton make an offer that will cause Freiburg to consider their options remains to be seen, but it seems they are interested, and Freiburg are aware of it.
For the time being, Schade is set to return to training with his club tomorrow before flying to a ten-day training camp with his club in Spain.
