Mundo Deportivo had quite a packed and complicated transfer article in their Monday edition, so much so that we’re still trying to make complete sense of it.
Several Premier League clubs were involved, and Manchester United found themselves getting more than one mention.
The Catalan newspaper have been looking at players Barcelona are looking to sign over the next couple of transfer windows, and what competition is expected to arrive.
For Adrien Rabiot, Manchester United are said to be one of the clubs ‘trying to seduce’ the PSG player with high wages plus a signing on fee. The midfielder’s contract ends in June and therefore unless anything changes he’ll be a free agent.
Mundo Deportivo believe he’ll be looking for in excess of €10m a year.
Jose Mourinho’s club aren’t one of those most frequently linked with Rabiot, although there was a claim back in April.
The next player who United would provide Barcelona with competition for is said to be Matthijs de Ligt. Ajax will only let the defender go if a ‘dizzying’ offer arrives in the January transfer window, something the English club are of course very capable of.
At the moment this just seems like the Catalan media hyping interest up.
