Over the past few weeks, there have been rumours circulating that Cristiano Ronaldo might leave Manchester United in the summer.
He’s under contract at Old Trafford until the end of the season, but considering how things have gone this campaign, first with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer getting sacked and things hardly improving under Ralf Rangnick, there was a belief he could call it quits early and find himself a new club.
That, however, has been dismissed by AS in Spain on Thursday, who explain that Cristiano Ronaldo has ‘decided to fulfil his remaining year of contract with Manchester United’.
The reason for that, other than the fact Ralf Rangnick will no longer be the manager, is that the Portuguese star ‘is confident that the club will get it right with the choice of the next manager’, as well as the reinforcements that will come with him.
Who that might be isn’t revealed, although everyone appears to favour Erik ten Hag, but Ronaldo is reportedly happy with the plan Manchester United have going forward, one he feels could lead them to ‘aspire to win the Premier League and the Champions League next season’.
Let’s see about that, because a lot of mistakes have been made at Old Trafford ever since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, and there is still room for more.
