It’s always interesting how situations in football change quickly, even when it comes down to transfer rumours which have been on for a long time.
Since Paul Pogba left Juventus to join Manchester United in 2016, the Old Lady were always said to be interested in bringing him back, even if they had to agree a fee for it.
Now that the midfielder can leave the Red Devils for free at the end of his contract, following an elimination from the Champions League where he started on the bench, there’s a bit less certainty about the Bianconeri’s wish.
Calciomercato today writes that Pogba ‘continues to nurture’ his love for Juventus, said to be proved with his post on Instagram when travelling to Italy to face Atalanta in the Champions League this season.
Now regarding Juventus’ choice of signing him, the report points out the many issues Pogba has been having in the past few years with Manchester United, especially regarding his inconsistency and injury problems.
That’s why it’s said the Old Lady ‘have to evaluate’ the situation ‘very carefully’.
Especially because the player, backed up by agent Mino Raiola, is expected to make huge salary requests, and with the Bianconeri having a ‘wake-up call’ following a few recent expensive flops, such as Aaron Ramsey and Douglas Costa, going after the Manchester United star, who will want €10m+ in wages, might not be the wisest move.
