Over the past few days, we’ve seen a number of articles suggesting that Milan in Italy are interested in Tottenham’s Steven Bergwijn.

That being said, they aren’t the only club after him, because Ajax Amsterdam have been trying to sign him for at least three transfer windows, failing each time.

Their attempts in January were quite well reported, especially since Erik ten Hag made it clear he wanted then director of football Marc Overmars to get The Netherlands international, but they never met Daniel Levy’s asking price, so no sale took place.

This summer could see a similar pattern, as Italian journalist Rudy Galetti claims the Eredivisie side ‘are still interested’ in Bergwijn, and ‘could try again’ in the summer.

It appears his price has gone up, too, as he states that Tottenham ‘value him at around €30m’.

It’s a fee Ajax can probably afford if they really tried, especially in a summer transfer window where a lot of their stars could leave, but we’ll have to wait and see if they take action.
