If certain members of the Italian media are to be believed, there are three clubs trying to sign Dejan Kulusevski from Atalanta.
Inter and Juventus are the two in Italy, impressed by what the 19-year-old has done on loan at Parma this season, with the third being Manchester United in the Premier League.
That’s been Gazzetta dello Sport’s angle this week, revealing earlier that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side had already ‘held talks’ with Atalanta regarding the young Swede ‘in recent weeks’, suggesting they were considering a move for January.
Fast forward to Friday, and they continue to push that angle, reporting that Manchester United have a ‘strong interest’ in the forward, for whom the Bergamo based club are asking around €40m.
However, it’s worth pointing out there’s a lot of confidence coming from Inter’s end that they can see off the competition from both the Old Trafford club and Juventus to sign the Swede quickly.
Their idea is to sign him in January, but let him finish his season at Parma, allowing him to keep his continuity going, all the while ensuring no one else signs him right from under their noses.
Perhaps that’s something Manchester United could consider if it means they stand more of a chance of signing a player they clearly like?
