While the transfer of Jadon Sancho is expected to cost Manchester United upwards of €80m, the Red Devils aren’t ready to stop there with their summer spending.
A centre-back and a midfielder are also on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wishlist, with Raphaël Varane top of the list for the former and seemingly Eduardo Camavinga for the latter.
Earlier today, we covered an article from Le Parisien that stated Manchester United were preparing an offer of around €30m for the French starlet; an amount that was expected to be rejected by Stade Rennais.
Marca have an article on the situation this afternoon, and they seem to believe the amount will be a bit less.
After all, Camavinga only has a year left on his contract, so there’s a desire to not overpay, with the Premier League side clearly aware that they also need money for the defender position.
Either way, Marca seem to believe that Manchester United are prepared to pay at least €75m for the two players, having already ‘offered €50m for Varane’.
As for Camavinga, they ‘would make a proposal of about €25m for the midfielder’.
The fact they mention the Le Parisien article further up in their report suggests they are fully aware of the €30m claim by their French counterparts, meaning the €25m seems to be their own information.
Regarding Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, two other suitors of Camavinga’s, they state the pair ‘no longer see’ the young midfielder ‘as a priority’.
That’s good news for Manchester United, who appear to have a clear path to the youngster, although there is still the problem of convincing Rennes, who will likely want a bit more for their starlet, regardless of his contract situation.
