Super-agent Jorge Mendes has ‘endorsed’ Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot to Barcelona as they look for a right-back next summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the Portuguese full back is one of the players who has been offered to the club.
They explain that since Barcelona president Joan Laporta made it clear that they would be active during the January transfer window, the club have ‘not stopped receiving offers’ from various agents.
Offers have been ‘pouring in’ from players whose futures are uncertain at this moment in time, with almost all of them having contracts expiring in 2023.
Manchester United defender Dalot is one of them and is an option that has been ‘backed by’ his agent Jorge Mendes.
He has an ‘exquisite relationship’ with the club and Laporta and while the defender has publicly admitted he is happy at Manchester United, he has also left his future open.
He’s yet to sign an extension to his current deal, which expires in the summer, opening up the possibility of a move in January if United want to avoid losing him on a free in the summer.
Mendes has certainly ‘endorsed’ the deal and seems to be working on the possibility of it happening, even though the last report from Spain on the matter made it clear it was practically impossible.
That came from Sport, whose stance was far more pessimistic than the one Mundo appear to be taking today.
