Over the weekend, reports coming out of Italy talked about Lazio interest in Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira.
Now Esporte Interativo, in Brazil, states the 24-year-old’s future is far away from Old Trafford and provides a background into negotiations between him and the Serie A side.
It’s claimed the ‘outcome is near’ after several conversations between the midfielder and Simone Inzaghi’s side. The two parties first started talks a few weeks ago.
The Belgium-born Brazil international is expected to join Lazio on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy set at €27m, a figure far higher than the €10m originally reported in Italy.
Esporte Interativo adds United will also be entitled to 10 percent of a future transfer fee.
Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has followed Pereira for three years and is now ‘trying hard’ to acquire his services. Inzaghi’s side have already made a first proposal of ‘onerous loan’ with the right to redemption set at €15m.
United haven’t said yes to this proposal as they ‘ask for more’ and would prefer to include an obligation to buy.
Despite the current situation, there’s ‘confidence’, most likely at Lazio, of finding an agreement with the Old Trafford club, especially after the player said ‘yes’ to their project.
As per the report, Pereira is not the only United player Lazio are looking at. It’s claimed they have carried out surveys for Juan Mata, who could also be leaving before the window closes in a week’s time.
Tare is the market looking to sign a versatile attacker and Mata would be an ‘interesting’ option for Lazio, if a deal for Pereira doesn’t materialise.
