Paris Saint Germain are considered one of the top contenders for the signing of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this summer, but according to the latest reports from France, the Ligue 1 side may not be ready to advance for the signing.

The information is brought by RMC Sport, who claim the Parisian club must first work on the ‘tracks they wish to finalise’.

That means Paul Pogba is ‘not close’ to signing with PSG, despite rumours from Italy this week claiming an agreement was close.

RMC Sport insist the French club want to ‘reduce its workforce’ for next season, which means several players will need to go. So even though ‘discussions, exchanges and negotiations’ continue, they’d have to ‘wait a little longer’ until taking a decision on Pogba.

Pogba’s contract with Manchester United expires next month, and the report points out it’s ‘already almost confirmed’ that he won’t stay at Old Trafford for another season.

There’s been recent reports in Italy of Juventus interest, however, there doesn’t seem to be anything concrete happening right now. Over in Spain, the Real Madrid claims are relatively quiet and have been for a while.
