It had been a while since the Argentine press last had big updates on the situation of Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.
Loaned by the Red Devils to Estudiantes back in January, the player’s spell expired in June, and he’s been waiting for a decision on his future since then.
Diario Hoy brings some interesting information on this case, claiming that club manager Leandro Desabato had a virtual meeting with Marcos Rojo this week.
It’s claimed there have been positive signs from this meeting, since the defender not only claimed he wishes to stay at Estudiantes, but also said he’ll speak to Manchester United about that.
Diário Hoy claims that the only way Rojo won’t continue at Estudiantes is if Manchester United manage to sell him elsewhere in the next 60 days.
They consider his sale quite unlikely to happen, because Rojo has made only one appearance this year. So it would be hard to find someone to pay over US$10m for his transfer, especially because he’s soon turning 30 years of age.
