There was a time when reports about Manchester United’s interest in Darwin Nunez wouldn’t mean a lot, as he was just another youngster showing good potential in the Portuguese League.

Now following his 34 goals scored this season, many of them against European giants, every story about the Benfica star certainly sounds a lot more exciting.

So it’s interesting to see that today, newspaper Record simply shows up highlighting Manchester United’s chase for Darwin Nunez this summer.

They feature a short story pointing out that the Red Devils aren’t only ‘attentive’ but are actually ‘one of the best placed clubs’ to land the striker in the coming months.

It turns out the reason for this story are the comments made by Ralf Rangnick this week, with the manager admitting that Erik ten Hag ‘prepares a renewal of the attack’ at the club.

So with the likes of Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford pointed out as the centre-forwards who could be on their way out of the club this summer, Record points out that Darwin is ‘one of the targets’ for Manchester United this summer.
