On September 24th, Calciomercato.it reported Manchester United are in the picture for Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot. Three days later, the same outlet explained Newcastle United could make an approach for him in January.

The midfielder has starred for the Serie A side, managing a goal and two assists from eight games this season. Calciomercato have a report focusing on his displays and also his future, given Rabiot’s deal expires in 2024.

After discussing his importance on the pitch for Massimiliano Allegri, the report focuses on the Old Lady’s need to secure the 28-year-old’s long-term future. That won’t be made easy by the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle as both seem to be sniffing around Rabiot.

It’s claimed the France international didn’t receive a pay rise when he last renewed his deal, and his mother, Veronique, who is also his agent, would demand an improved deal to sign a new contract.

Manchester United and Newcastle may offer the former PSG man a better deal, and the report says the Premier League duo are ‘ready to knock on Rabiot’s door again’ and upset the Turin club’s plan to tie him down to a new deal.

In addition to this, the report adds Juve qualifying for the Champions League next season will be the ‘fundamental step’ to convince the player to sign an extension.

Juventus hope to agree a deal with Rabiot before the end of this year, and therefore, the coming weeks will be ‘intense’ for his future.

If Manchester United or Newcastle can convince his agent, they could be in line to sign the Frenchman for free next summer.
