Two days ago, Bild explained Barcelona have joined Manchester United in the race for Jadon Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

‘Jadon Sancho alternative to Neymar’ is on the front page of today’s Sport.

Within the report, the Catalan newspaper relays claims made by Bild on April 30th and then they provide their own information about Barca’s general transfer desires.

The Bundesliga winners are looking for a successor the England international and Ansu Fati has been identified as one of the targets to replace Sancho. The 20-year-old was mentioned when the two sides were discussing about Fati.

The Catalan club are looking for a left-winger and Sancho’s name has now emerged, however, there’s no acknowledgement that he plays more on the right. Their initial target is Neymar and if Barca fail to land the Paris Saint-Germain star, the Dortmund wideman is viewed as an alternative.

Lucien Favre’s side are asking €130m for the Englishman and he would be a cheaper alternative to Neymar, both in terms of the transfer fee and wages.

The report states the Red Devils are the club that ‘has made the most progress in this negotiation, but it has not yet come to fruition’. This could allow Barca to move for the ex-Manchester City academy player.

Sport doesn’t rule out the possibility of Dortmund and Barcelona mixing two operations involving Sancho and Fati. This would mean the Blaugrana must financially compensate the German club as the part of the operation.

What’s clear from the report is United are still leading the race for the German club’s winger, and the actual claims are all based on what’s coming from Germany… despite Sancho being on the front page.
