Portuguese side Santa Clara announced today the arrival of João Ferreira from Manchester United.
The 36-year-old, who used to be a first team scout for the Red Devils, is now set to take the role of sporting director at his new club, and will have the first administrative job in his career.
The talks for Ferreira’s arrival had already been reported by the Portuguese media, who claimed that he had ‘endorsed’ the signings of Victor Lindelof and Bruno Fernandes by Manchester United.
He had previously been a chief scout at Orlando City, and also worked as a coach for Gabon, Casa Pia, Belenenses and Sporting.
This is the third scout who reportedly leaves Manchester United to work abroad this year.
