Nordi Mukiele’s versatility and performances for RB Leipzig have seen Manchester United take notice.
He finished the 2021/22 season with two goals and five assists, operating as a right wing-back/right-back, and also in the middle and left side of defence.
On May 9th, Foot Mercato reported that Manchester United are keen on the 24-year-old for this summer.
L’Equipe on Friday have a report on the France international, where they state his ‘future is probably written elsewhere’, even though Leipzig have ‘not give up hope’ of extending his deal.
Mukiele is valued between €10m and €15m and signing him this summer is ‘perceived as a market opportunity’ by other clubs. In this regard, there is Manchester United, who have ‘initiated first contacts’.
Atlético Madrid expressed interest in Mukiele, but their sporting director, André Berta, had backed down due to the ‘firm position of the German club’. It is possible they could come back for him this summer.
If Manchester United or another club can convince the player for a summer move, Leipzig could be forced to sell Mukiele in order to avoid losing him for nothing in 2023.
