While many Premier League clubs have been linked with Paulo Dybala since it was announced that the Argentine would be leaving Juventus on a free, Manchester United have remained at a distance, perhaps knowing their unflattering table position wouldn’t help them.
After all, the forward has already rejected them once in the past, but there are signs of change at Old Trafford these days, with the arrival of Erik ten Hag seemingly set to kickstart a revolution.
That appears to be why we are now seeing Dybala’s name next to Manchester United’s in the Italian newspapers on Wednesday morning, with the Dutchman’s appointment potentially making the English club a bit more exciting for technical players on the transfer market.
Gazzetta dello Sport have a bit on all this in their print edition, explaining that Inter have some kind of deal with the Juventus player’s entourage, who will keep the Serie A club ‘informed of the movements win the player, of the potential interested clubs and of offers that may arrive’.
They then point out that ‘so far, nothing has happened, if not a timid interest from Manchester United, favoured by the arrival of Ten Hag on the bench’.
This suggests the new manager could help attract a player like Dybala to Old Trafford, which is echoed by Corriere dello Sport in their own article on the matter.
They state ‘the trusted intermediary who is scanning the foreign market is current in England’, before adding ‘Manchester United seem to be serious, at the push of new manager Ten Hag’.
That’s alongside interest from Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City, who will all be eagerly waiting for their chance to sit down and try to convince the very talented player to join them.
