Manchester United’s centre-back target list includes a few names and among them are Jules Koundé and Pau Torres.
According to La Razón, the Red Devils are ‘finally opting’ for the Villarreal defender over the Sevilla player.
The Frenchman has a €90m release clause, and although Sevilla are willing to negotiate to lower his price tag, Torres is ‘more affordable’ than Koundé.
The Spain international’s release clause is set at €65m, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are hoping to get him for a lower price.
Recent reports suggested the Premier League side have found out the 24-year-old is keen on moving to Old Trafford after they held talks with his entourage. However, sources close to Unai Emery’s man have denied these claims.
The Yellow Submarine, for their part, ‘will demand’ suitors interested in acquiring Torres’ services pay his full €65m release clause, and will not entertain any players to be included as part of the deal for the defender’s transfer.
Villarreal have stated their conditions to sanction Torres’ sale and it’s now down to United and other interested clubs whether or not they will look to sign him for €65m in the summer.
