Man City ‘willing to spend important figure’ for signing – Serie A man can ‘say goodbye’

Manchester City have become the latest club in England to be credited with an interest in Stefan de Vrij.

The centre-back’s current deal at Inter Milan will run down in 2023 and the two parties have so far not found an agreement over a new deal. For the past few weeks, he has been linked to Tottenham Hotspur.

With the Nerazzurri and AC Milan involved in the title race, there will be talks over the 30-year-old’s future after this campaign. That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who state that Manchester City have joined Spurs to become the defender’s suitors.

It’s claimed the Netherlands international could ‘say goodbye’ to the Serie A winners in the summer, if there is the ‘right offer’. Journalist Stefano Benzi then provides information about the Premier League champions wanting to sign the former Lazio man.

Benzi states ‘there is a very serious interest’ from Manchester City for the Dutchman. He further adds Pep Guardiola’s side are ‘willing to spend’ an ‘important figure’ of €40m to secure De Vrij’s services in the next window.

Apart from the English champions, the journalist also mentions Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in the player.
