Marcel Brands is trying to get as much business done as possible before he leaves PSV at the end of the month. The Dutch club’s director of sport is taking up a similar role at Everton on June 1st, but is working hard to assist PSV as much as possible before then.
One of the deals Brands is trying to get over the line is signing Angelino from Manchester City, after the youngster impressed on loan in the Netherlands.
The problem, as usual, has been money.
Friday’s edition of De Telegraaf reported Manchester City are looking for €10m, which was out of the question for PSV, and Eindhoven Dagblad now report the Eredivisie club want to pay €5m.
The transfer is currently described as being in the ‘waiting room’, but there’s confidence a deal will be found, with Brands trying to finalise it before he leaves. ED say the word from the player’s entourage is that Manchester City are looking to secure themselves a buyback clause, and that fits in well with reports of the Premier League champions selling other youngsters.
It’s expected an agreement will be reached, but ED don’t think it’ll happen this weekend.
