It’s not everyday a club gets excited about Manchester City sending scouts to one of their games, but when you’re KFCO Beerschot Wilrijk in Belgium’s second division, that’s exactly what happens.

According to the Proximus League club’s official website, they received a request to reserve two scouting tickets for Phil Robinson, registered as Pep Guardiola’s side’s ‘International Youth Scouting and Recruitment Manager’.

Of course, the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Vincent Kompany are also mentioned as examples of Belgian players who have made it at the Etihad, probably as an extra motivation for those taking part in the clash against Cercle Brugge.

We’re not going to try and blag our way into making you believe we know a lot about Belgian’s second division, and it’s worth pointing out Beerschot also have no idea who  Manchester City could be coming to watch, making that clear in their article.

The Wilrijk based club currently sit top of the Proximus League with 39 points, and will face second placed Cercle Brugge on Saturday evening.
