Erling Haaland to Manchester City ‘is a done deal’ as far as those in charge at the Etihad are concerned.
That’s according to Marca journalist Mario Cortegana, who says the signals coming out of the club are that they have secured the Borussia Dortmund star for next season.
The Norwegian striker is set to be one of the major movers this summer, having made it clear he wants to leave Dortmund, putting all of the major clubs in Europe on alert.
Manchester City are firmly in the race for his signature, and numerous reports from England and Germany have made it clear they’ve all but finalised a move.
That confidence has been pulled back in the last few weeks, with it explained Real Madrid remain on the periphery and trying to work out if they could sign Haaland and Kylian Mbappe this summer.
Indeed, there’s a belief that Haaland would prefer to join Madrid over Manchester City, but the finances involved in signing both players are prohibiting that at this moment in time.
Cortegana, though, insists that everyone at Manchester City is confident they have managed to beat the Spanish giants to Haaland’s signature.
“There are people from Manchester City preparing everything they have to arrange for the process to go ahead,” he told the Three Amigos Podcast, relayed by Bernabeu Digital.
“Everything is being prepared to get it done now. ‘Haaland is a done deal’, is the message from Manchester City.
“The only possibility I would see of Haaland not going to City is if there was a last-ditch move by Real Madrid, health permitting, with Mino Raiola.”
