It’s now been two years since Manchester City signed Yan Couto from Coritiba. Despite spending €6m to take him from Brazil, Pep Guardiola’s side never used him, having loaned the fullback to Girona and Braga in the past couple of seasons.
This is the reason, according to Torcedores, the player would like to leave the club, and already shared his intention with Txiki Begiristain.
Couto is said to be focused on moving away from Manchester City ‘in a friendly way, without wearing himself out’.
It’s said there’s no expectation from him to be used by Guardiola and there’s ‘dissatisfaction’ at being loaned twice. So his idea is to join a club who can ‘fight for titles’.
Torcedores claim Couto was offered to Flamengo, but also draws the interest from Fiorentina, Galatasaray, Getafe and Lille.
With the player willing to be closer to his family in Brazil and the national team, a move to the Rio de Janeiro side is said to be ‘the best alternative’ in this scenario, and it’s now up for the red and black side to get in touch with Manchester City.
