Since Claudio Bravo’s wife Carla Pardo said she’d like to see him playing for her favourite club, Universidad Catolica, there’s been a big debate in Chile regarding the goalkeeper’s next destination.
The 37-year-old used to play for Colo Colo, who’d also be happy to have him back. So even though he’s been linked to European sides, a return to his home country is now very much commented in South America.
Newspaper La Cuarta features a story in which they’ve managed to listen to two sides of the story, with people saying he should join Universidad Catolica, and others claiming he should return to Colo Colo.
The report claims that when contacting both clubs to know if they’d be interested in signing Bravo, they got the same answer: ‘Of course!’.
Everton (the Chile club) goalkeeper Johnny Herrera has revealed that it’s not only Bravo’s wife who’d like to see him at Universidad Catolica. There are other people from his family who support the club as well.
“Claudio talked only about his lady, but he has several ‘U’ fans in the family. He told me this, I think his grandfather was a fan of the ‘U’ and had all his children convinced that they must be from the ‘U’. He told me. I leave it there.”
La Cuarta also interviewed Colo Colo legend Daniel Morón. He sounds very hopeful that Bravo should return to his former club.
“On both sides, everyone wants Colo Colo to be his home in Chile and if they have the generosity to understand each other, it will be great to see Claudio at the Monumental. I think he should go back to Colo Colo.”
