Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is expected to join Real Madrid this summer, but the Blues will only sanction his sale once they sign his replacement.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester City goalkeeper Hart has emerged as a transfer target for the FA Cup winners.
The English stopper has one year left on his current deal at the Etihad. The 31-year-old ‘could be arriving’ at the west London club for €6m.
Even though the price is affordable, the Blues have a few reservations about signing the City goalkeeper following his display for West Ham United last season. However, new manager Maurizio Sarri sees the operation of signing Hart ‘with very good eyes’.
After two loan spells at Torino and West Ham, Hart has made it clear that he is looking for a permanent transfer in order to be an “important player”.
“I need to be an important player at that club and I think that can only happen with a permanent move,” Hart explained.
If Hart joins Chelsea, he is likely to be the first choice keeper at Stamford Bridge, ahead of his former City teammate Willy Caballero.
Sarri would surely have other preferences before Hart, and whilst the goalkeeper left a good impression in Italy it possibly want the type of impression which suggested he can star for a club aiming for domestic and European titles.
