Following the many quick reports of Manchester City’s attempt to sign River Plate star Julian Alvarez, Argentine outlet TyC Sports now comes up with a calmer story telling what’s been happening in Buenos Aires.
It’s confirmed that Pep Guardiola’s side are making two offers. One to take the player to England now and another to bring him in June, and none of them is close to his €20m release clause.
Even though it’s claimed there’s ‘secrecy’ from Alvarez’s entourage for now, it’s said the ‘offer exists and is seductive enough for the player to decide to jump to the Old Continent’.
TyC thefeore claims it will be difficult for River Plate to convince the player to stay, so the ‘best option’ now is to accept the bid where City only take him in June, as the Buenos Aires side would have six months to find a replacement.
