Regardless of how old you are, when you score 15 goals in 11 appearances for your team, you are bound to turn a few heads and interest a few scouts.
That’s exactly what Toulouse’s young forward Adil Taoui is doing with the French side’s lower teams, and both Manchester City and Manchester United have been tracking his progress, according to FootMercato.
FooMercato report Manchester City and Manchester United are said to have watched him regularly over the past few months, including during the Tournoi du Val de Marne, where he represented France’s U16s, helping his country win the tournament, scoring two goals along the way.
However, the French website state clearly that Toulouse are very aware of how talented the young attacking midfielder is, and aren’t anticipating an early departure to either Old Trafford or the Etihad Stadium for their young prodigy.
Of course, money and glory can change minds very easily, but the player’s agent told FootMercato the most important thing is ‘to avoid jumping the gun’ and ‘continue his development with Toulouse before signing his first professional contract’.
Citing Karim Benzema as the perfect career example, Taoui’s representative appears to know what he’s doing, which is always a good thing if a player wants to avoid the fate reserved for those who think too big too soon.
