Signed from Vasco da Gama on a €12m deal this summer, Douglas Luiz hasn’t had a chance to play for Manchester City yet.

Right after moving to England, the Brazilian midfielder was immediately sent on loan to partner club Girona, where he’s been slowly earning his place in the team.

And Pep Guardiola’s staff don’t seem to regret that decision, because according to a story from UOL today, they are very satisfied with the player’s development in Spain.

The outlet explains Manchester City loanees are followed by two groups of professionals: the scouts in the countries they’re playing, and the staff who analyse the videos at the club’s headquarters.

Douglas would be pleasing both sides, with his biggest qualities being his high levels of concentration, his physical challenges and aggressiveness.

UOL claims that if the 19-year-old keeps this form, there are chances  he will return to City next summer to make part of the preseason. That’s what Guardiola normally does with other youngsters, and Douglas could finally have his chance to wear Manchester City’s shirt.
