Manchester City are one of the clubs keeping an eye on Augsburg youngster Dzenan Pejcinovic.
That’s according to Sport 1, who say Manchester City and Juventus are watching the 17-year-old’s development ‘with great interest’.
The website reveals City’s interest, in a piece looking at some of the exciting youngsters coming through the German youth ranks, with them competing at the U17 European Championship.
Pejcinovic is one of them, having originally trained at Bayern Munich before becoming ‘one of the hottest commodities’ in Augsburg’s junior ranks.
He’s managed 12 goals in 21 games for their Under 17s so far, as well as one goal in five games for the U19s, but it’s on the international stage where he’s really shone with 17 goals in 14 games for Germany’s Under 17s.
This has earned him plenty of attention, with the likes of Manchester City and Juventus keeping an eye on a player described as ‘a real goal machine’ who is ‘extremely strong in the box’.
Those clubs are following his development with ‘great interest’, but they would have to work hard to convince him to leave Germany.
Pejcinovic is ‘very much at home’ in the country, and a move elsewhere is ‘out of the question’ for him at this moment in time.
He also has interest in the Bundesliga, but his aim is to breakthrough and star for Augsburg, and that’s all he’s focused on for the time being.
That can always change, of course, particularly if the big clubs come calling, so keep an eye out for his name in future.
