Portuguese newspaper O Jogo say they’ve learned Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign attacker Marlos Moreno.

The 19 year old currently plays for Atletico Nacional, and O Jogo’s interest is because Portuguese club Benfica were also interested in the youngster.

It’s claimed that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United were keen on the player, and we’ve previously covered reports of interest from Liverpool and Inter Milan.

The transfer will be finalised over the coming days, according to O Jogo, and Manchester City will then look to loan the player out.

A club in Spain is the targeted destination, and that will allow Moreno to get more experience and to introduce himself to European football.

Colombia are currently ranked 3rd in the world by FIFA, meaning to get an automatic work permit for English football that Moreno would have to participate in 30% of his country’s matches.

That’s over a period of two years, and Moreno only made his international debut in March. However, since then he’s gone on to make a total of 7 appearances, so there should be no cause for worry on that front.

Moreno is primarily a right sided attacker, but can play anywhere across the front three, and on either wing.
