With most of the transfer windows coming to an end, it looks like Yacine Brahimi will be staying at Porto for the 2018-19 season.
Despite interest from many clubs, no offer was convincing to take the player from the Dragons, and he now heads to the last year of contract at the club.
Newspaper Record writes about it today, saying the only official offers came from West Ham, who bid €30m, and Roma, who are still willing to pay €25m.
The Hammers apparently weren’t attractive enough for the player, while Roma don’t have much of a chance as he’d rather move to the Premier League.
Even though Monaco have been linked to Brahimi for a while now, Record are not expecting the French side to make a bid before the end of the transfer window.
So things are starting to look like Brahimi is really staying, which means he’ll be able to sign a pre-contract with any club he wants by January.
With the winger’s wish to move to England being so clear, that’s a good chance for all his admirers in the Premier League. Maybe with a good season, West Ham would have another chance to convince him to join them.
