Thursday night saw Antonio Conte realise the task ahead of him at Tottenham, as the Premier League side suffered a rather embarrassing defeat at the hands of NS Mura in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
He probably knew that when he took the job, and the Italian manager has always made it clear he was up for a challenge, having turned problematic clubs around in the past.
Furthermore, in an interview with Sportweek in Italy, relayed by Gazzetta dello Sport, he also praised Daniel Levy for the trust he had placed in him, as well as the project he wants to build with his new squad leader.
One thing is certain, though, Antonio Conte is always going to do his best and try to improve himself and Tottenham as long as he is in charge.
He said, in the same interview: “I never stop growing, updating myself, finding new solutions. I study football every day. It is my life, my passion, my job, my magnificent obsession. To stay on top, you never have to sit down.”
What can help Tottenham as well are the fans, which is something José Mourinho had to do without for a while, and Conte was over the moon with the way they made him feel when he was announced as the club’s new manager.
He added: “They gave me an incredible welcome, a great feeling was created immediately. The fans in that stadium are able to give you wings.”
So, if you continue the way you have been, Tottenham supporters, it’ll be the equivalent of cracking open a can of Red Bull.
Keep going.
