As Peruvian full-back Kluiverth Aguilar waits for his move to Manchester City, the 17-year-old continues to feature for his current club Allianza Lima in the local league.
Following their disappointing 0-0 draw against Sport Huancayo this week, the teenager was heavily criticised by the local media.
Journalist Peter Arevalo spent a long time talking about Allianza Lima’s bad form, and when discussing Kluiverth Aguilar, he claimed the potential shown by the player so far doesn’t justify the move he earned to Manchester City.
“Kluiverth Aguilar did not convince me either last season or this season,” said Arevalo (via Bolavip).
Reports from Peru last month claimed that Manchester City were trying to get the deal done early and bring Aguilar to Europe now.
The idea would be to first send him to Lommel, also part of the City Group, to start his adaptation in Europe.
It was later claimed that Allianza Lima found a deal to keep the player at least until June, when he will then complete the move to Manchester City, who reportedly spent €2.5m to get the youngster.
