The Argentine media today features good and bad news regarding Boca Juniors’ pursuit of Manchester United star Edinson Cavani.

Starting with the positive side, at least for the fans of the La Bombonera club, a member of their council board has confirmed that they’ve been working on the signing of the Uruguayan striker.

Speaking to TyC Sports, Jorge Bermudez basically said it’s now up to Cavani to take their offer and join the Buenos Aires side in the summer, when his contract with Manchester United expires.

“The good thing is that all the players in the world declare that they want to come,” Bermudez told TyC Sports.

“I think it’s clear for Cavani that he’s loved and respected here, and that it would be a pleasure to have him with the Boca jersey, but there’s much that depends on him.

“I see it possible that Cavani comes to Boca. Human beings have principles and sometimes the family theme is strong and hopefully a large part of that final decision will come to stay close to his own.”

The other side of this saga is told by Marca, who have a piece on the ‘seduction plan’ that Manchester United have to keep Cavani at the club.

It’s claimed the Red Devils are offering the striker a one-year renewal. His response was supposed to be delivered before the start of April, but due to his request to postpone it, the club shall now wait until the 15th of May.

Marca points out that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been talking in press conferences about Cavani’s importance, besides using him more, and that’s all part of his intention to make the player feel wanted at the club.
