Real Betis are eyeing a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Aït-Nouri as a replacement for Aston Villa bound Álex Moreno.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say Julen Lopetegui would be willing to let the defender departs Molineux.
Moreno is on the verge of a move to Villa Park, with reports today explaining that he has been left out of a training squad as he finalises a move to join up with Unai Emery’s side.
His departure will leave a big hole in Betis’ squad that will need to be filled and Betis are now scouring the market for a replacement.
They have several options on their list and ‘one of the best’ is Aït-Nouri, whom Lopetegui is not counting on at Wolves and ‘would be willing to give up’ until the end of the season.
That option has ‘quite a few chances’ of success, in other words, a deal for Aït-Nouri is very much seen as one that Betis could get over the line should they wish.
Aït-Nouri would provide ‘cover’ in the event of a departure for Moreno, at least until the summer when the Spanish side could then look for a more permanent replacement.
A deal will still need to be struck with Wolves, of course, but there is a confidence a deal can be done it Betis want it.
