Moisés Caicedo has been heavily linked with Manchester United over the past few weeks, but Independiente del Valle general manager Santiago Morales has insisted there’s been no contact with the Red Devils.
On December 29th, Ecuadorian journalist Roberto Omar Machado reported Chelsea have ‘shown interest’ in the midfielder.
Ecuadorian newspaper El Telégrafo now backs up Blues interest in the 19-year-old.
They first make it clear United have not held any talks or negotiations for the starlet, and this has been ‘confirmed’ by Morales.
The outlet also explains about approaches made by other clubs for the Ecuadorian, and it’s claimed Chelsea and Ajax have ‘consulted for him’.
Morales admitted on Monday that Independiente del Valle are in talks with other European clubs, and he’s now further backed it up by revealing interest in Caicedo from an unnamed English side
“There is another club interested in England and also a team from the five top leagues in Europe,” Morales told Machdeportes, as relayed by El Universo.
“We have two strong teams from Europe interested in him, without reaching any understanding yet, but we hope their negotiation will be prompt.”
