Last week, following initial reports regarding Nottingham Forest’s interest in signing Alex Moreno from Real Betis, the Spanish media said the club had made a ‘derisory’ €5m bid for the player, which would never be accepted by the La Liga side.

It turns out that today, three days after those news, the local media continues to be outraged by the offer placed by the Premier League club.

Estádio Deportivo writes there was even ‘moderate optimism’ from Nottingham Forest when trying to open talks for that amount. Still, they point out the ‘lack of respect’ from the club by putting those numbers on the table.

The outlet mentions that Moreno is valued by Transfermarkt at €18m, and when trying to find a reason why the English side would only offer €5m, they say that he’s 29-years-of-age could be the only explanation.

The story claims the offer from Nottingham Forest ‘seems like a joke’, with Betis ‘obviously’ giving a quick rejection to the proposal. The La Liga side won’t sell any of their players for less than they’re considered to be worth, and continue to wait for decent bids.
