With Luis Diaz doing pretty well in his first months at Liverpool, it’s inevitable that Porto fans start thinking about the bonuses that the club could get with that.

When Reds and Dragons agreed the transfer in January, there was not only the fee of €45m, but also add-ons which can reach up to €15m.

Now for those who think Porto should already start celebrating for the good start Diaz is having in England, newspaper Record comes up today to say that money isn’t arriving so quickly.

According to the outlet, all bonuses in the agreement will ‘only come into effect from 2022/23’, meaning everything the winger is doing now won’t have any financial impact for the Portuguese side.

Record writes that from the €15m in bonuses, €10m are seen as easy to achieve. For example, Liverpool’s qualifications for the Champions League, where the Reds must pay Porto €1m each season, and it can be repeated for five times.

Another easy add-on is tied to Diaz’s number of performances for the Anfield Road side.

For each 25 appearances where he plays for at least 45 minutes, the English club also have to pay €1m, with a limit of five times as well.

According to the newspaper, the other €5m are tied to performance stats from Diaz for Liverpool, and despite the four goals and three assists he already has, those will only start counting when the next season begins.
