Claims of Liverpool interest in Lucas Ocampos have made their way to Spain, with La Razion giving a Sevilla take on it.
They report the Reds are ‘willing to bid’ for the Argentine attacker, however, there’s no indication whether Jurgen Klopp’s side would be prepared to meet the player’s €65m release clause.
There’s a good chance the Premier League champions wouldn’t have to go so high. Sevilla, like many European clubs, need to bring funds in during the summer window having lost a fortune through the Covid-19 crisis.
Ocampos is 26-years-of-age and has a contract until June 2024. Last season he scored 17 goals and added five assist across all 44 matches he played, this season so far it’s six goals and four assists in 30 matches.
He can play on the right or left wing, which would help bring strength to Liverpool’s options, and there’s always the possibility of using Takumi Minamino, who has been linked with Sevilla, as part of a deal.
With Sevilla needing funds, attention turns to Ocampos and Jules Kounde as two of the likeliest options for a big summer exit.
