Record today features a story with Tariq Hinds, who left Tottenham Hotspur last summer and now continues his career in Portuguese football.

A headline saying ‘From Mourinho to Évora’ is the way they found to describe that the fullback left one of the most iconic managers in the world to play for a third division side, in a city with just over fifty thousand people.

Hinds featured for Tottenham’s youth ranks for nine years, where he played in tournaments such as the UEFA Youth League, the EFL Trophy and the FA Youth Cup. Last year, however, he left them at the end of his contract.

Now quizzed if he became used to listening to some Portuguese following José Mourinho’s arrival at Spurs, Hinds claims he actually didn’t have much contact with the manager.

“I felt the pressure! Unfortunately, I didn’t have many opportunities to talk to him,” Hinds told Record.

The 20-year-old also talked about his objectives featuring for Lusitano de Évora. He’s just joined them this month and has a six-month contract to prove himself.

“It was a good opportunity that came up. It’s a new experience, in a country very connected to football, and I wanted a new challenge, a new project.”
