As we all know, Premier League clubs like to cast their scouting net far and wide these days, sending representatives to keep an eye on talent in all corners of Europe.
West Ham and Liverpool are no different, as it’s being reported in Romania that both clubs would be dispatching scouts to watch the Bucharest derby between Dinamo and Steaua.
This news was reported by Digisport, who explain this isn’t the first time the Premier League teams have sent their representatives to the clash between the two sides.
It isn’t known specifically who West Ham and Liverpool were watching specifically, but it would be surprising if they travelled to keep an eye on two of Steaua’s gems in Dennis Man and Florinel Coman.
The latter of the two was the subject of a €16m bid by Sheffield United during the January transfer window, which was rejected as the club’s owner wanted nothing under €20m.
Coman is certainly a player David Moyes and co. should be looking at to bolster their attack, but as for Liverpool, it could just be a trip to see if there was anyone there that stood out to report back to Jürgen Klopp.
You know, just in case.
